Mangalore, Aug 11, 2015 : Addressing a gathering after unveiling the logo of the Nehru Chinthana Kendra (Centre for Nehruvian Thoughts) at Mangalore University August 10, Monday, VC Byrappa said that Karnataka State government, it may be recalled last month sanctioned Nehru Chinthana Kendra (Centre for Nehruvian Thoughts) to Mangalore University with a corpus fund of Rs. 3 crore. The kendra would organise various activities in the coming years .
The co-ordinator of the kendra Rajaram Tolpady said that it would organise a six-day workshop from August 20 on guiding youth in nation building. It would be an orientation programme on guiding them in developing leadership skills.
He said that an international conference on the theme ‘Rediscovering Nehru’s Ideas in Contemporary India’ would be organised on the university campus for three days in November. 2015. The kendra would host a children’s film festival for three days probably in the third week of this month.
