National Seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in Chemical Sciences’ inaugurated

Mangalore, Feb 15, 2013: Research in the field of Chemistry has crossed the boundaries of multiple branches, said Dr BS Sherigara, former vice chancellor of Kuvempu University.
He was speaking after inaugurating a three-day National Seminar on "Emerging Trends in Chemical Sciences", at Eric Mathias Hall held under the aegis of the Department of Chemistry St Aloysius College (Autonomous) on February 14, Thursday.
Dr Sherigar further said such seminars provided a great opportunity for researchers, and students to showcase their talents in the fields while also motivating young minds.
Fr Swebert D’Silva, Principal, St Aloysius College who presided over the function, urged the student to be inquisitive and learn something new.
Dr A K Ashok, Professor in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, delivered the keynote address. Vice Principal Ronald Pinto, Ivan Pinto, Head of the Department of Chemistry and others were present.
