National Level Technical Fest TIARA-2018 opens at SJEC

Mangaluru, Feb 23, 2018: TIARA 2018, the two-day annual National Level Technical Fest organized by St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor, Mangaluru was inaugurated February 21, at the Kalam Auditorium.  Ivan Fernandes, Promoter and Managing Director - Regent  Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Dubai, and Mangalore Internet City Pvt. Ltd, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Inaugurating the Fest, the chief guest  Ivan Fernandes in his address, stressed  the need for  innovation and creativity to take India forward. He invited the students and faculty to focus on  issues related to environment, sustainable energy, banking and finance, Artificial Intelligence,
and life sciences, as these areas offered opportunities to bring growth and mass impact. He also called upon students to be innovative entrepreneurs to create value and jobs.

Rev. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director – SJEC, presided, in his  presidential address he highlighted the need to use technology wisely and to use technology to bring  about harmony and peace. Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal – SJEC, Rev.  Rohith D’Costa,  Assistant Director – SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal – SJEC, along with the Conveners of the Fest, Franco Menezes and Reshma K.J., were present.
