In his speech, Mr. Pai expressed his gratefulness and said that he had written the script as “an experiment,” which was uniquely presented in the film. He also said that the script became special because it enthralled the audience and encouraged them to participate in the sense that the script provided clues and the audience could create a story based on those clues.

Mr. Pai has also authored a Konkani novel “Swapna Saraswat,” which was published in 2009. Venkatesh Nayak, the secretary of the Konkani Bhasha Vidhyarthi Mandal, introduced Mr. Pai and said that Mr. Pai had collected 15,000 photographs and referred to 4000 books in order to write this novel, which is about the Gowda Saraswat Brahmin community. He had begun his research for the novel in 1990. The first draft of the novel had 620 pages and these were later reduced to 475 pages.

The novel has been translated into English, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Bengali.
