Nalin locks horns with SP Labhu Ram

Puttur, Oct 12, 2011 : SP Labhu Ram and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel got into an argument yesterday while making arrangements for a helipad for CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda’s visit to Mangalore

The SP, who was handling the arrangements, told District BJP General Secretary Sanjiva Mathandoor, Devidas Shetty, and other BJP leaders not to enter the helipad and cross the line of demarcation.

Angered by this, BJP leaders MLA Padmanabha Kottari, Puttur BJP President Gopalakrishna Herle, Chanila Timmappa Shetty, State BJP Committee Member Chandrashekar Rao, and others began protesting.

 

Reportedly, Naveen Kumar Kateel lost his temper completely when the SP said that nobody can be allowed into the helipad for safety reasons. Raising his voice, he demanded to know how the police dare prevent BJP workers and leaders from welcoming their leader when they are incapable of solving the Naxal problem.

Although the SP tried to explain the issue to the BJP leaders, they would not listen and threatened that they would complain to the CM. Even DC Dr. Channappa Gowda failed to convince them.

Later, the CM arrived at the spot and spoke to the party workers.
