NUHM to instigate evening clinics in Mangaluru by December end

Mangaluru Dec 5, 2016: Dakshina Kannada district unit of  National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) in association with private hospitals will start evening clinics Urban Primary Health Care Centers shortly,  informed Minister for food and Civil Supplies UT Khader.

Speaking during the review meeting of health department at DC office on Monday December 5. UT Khader said that, this initiative intended will definately help people and Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the private hospitals is under progress. Evening clinics will be opened at Shakthinagar and Kuloor in association with A J Hospital and Research Center. In order to help the people in Bunder area, evening clinic will be opened at Bunder area  which will be assisted by the Yenepoya Hospital. K S Hegde Hospital in Deralakatte will extend its helping hand to open evening clinic at Yekkur.

He also said that, private hospital will appoint physician while two staff nurses will be appointed by the government. The clinic would be expected to open by the end of December.

The health officials also informed about the another project of opening Health Kiosks under the supervision of  Karnataka Health System Development Reforms Project (KHSDRP). As per the project, five health kioscs will be opened at Mangaluru and four at Ullal.

Don’t panic over colored salt

Speaking about the colored salt, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader urged public for not to panic over the colored salt. Pointing out the recent incident of blue colored salt being supplied through ration shops Khader informed that there may be different colors of salt which is proved that it is not poisonous. The officials should be very careful ensuring no rumors spread on the quality of the food products, he said.

DK District Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadisha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar were present.
