NMPT honors engineers on Engineers’ Day

Mangalore , Sep 16, 2011 : The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) observed Engineers’ Day in commemoration of the 151st birth anniversary of Sir M. Vishweshwarayya in the Port Auditorium on Thursday.

The chief guest was Prof. Babu Narayan, the member of the civil engineering department of NIT-K. Delivering the keynote address, he lauded the great qualities of Sir M. Vishweshwarayya.

In his presidential address, NMPT Chairman Dr. P. Tamilvanan congratulated all engineers and urged them to imbibe the qualities of Sir M. Vishweshwarayya.

Later, Dr. Tamilvanan distributed prizes among the winners of the Quiz and the Pick and Speak competitions organized on the occasion for high school kids. He also distributed cash prizes to port employees’ kids who scored top marks in the final year engineering exam this year.

F. F. Britto, the executive engineer of NMPT, was felicitated on the occasion.
