Mangaluru, June 9, 2016 : The District Administration will be convening the National Highway Land Acquisition Compensation Adalat in order to ensure disbursal of compensation to all land owners whose land has been acquired to facilitate the widening of the four lane stretch of the NH 66 from Nantur to Talapady and from Suratkal to Mulki on June 11 at 10 am.
Informing this to reporters here on June 9, Thursday, Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim said of the several people who have received compensation, a total of 376 had appealed for higher compensation and that 296 land owners will receive higher compensation. The increased compensation has already been distributed to 87 land owners, he said.
The DC informed that a total of 56.72 hectares of land have been acquired for the NH widening and 900 land owners will have to be paid a compensation of Rs 53.63 crores.
The DC has asked all land owners concerned to participate in the Adalat and claim their compensation. He also stated that in view of the fish breeding season sand mining and extraction is banned from June 15 till August 15.
