Mangaluru, June 30, 2018: Navayug Company which is entrusted with the NH 66 and the Thokkottu and Pumpwell fly over works and has drawn flak for the inordinate delay in the completion of the project, has now admitted that the company is facing financial hurdles.
Participating in a meeting at the DC office on June 29, Saturday, officials of the company when questioned by State Minister U T Khader for the delay in the works leading to hassles for the general public, stated that the company was in financial trouble and that efforts to avail bank loan was underway, The works would commence as soon as loan is sanctioned, the officials have stated.
Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, asked the officials to make it clear if they are unable to complete the work. He also blamed the National Highway Authority for the delay and added that such problems crop up when the Authority fails to have control over the contract agency. He also warned of action against those concerned in the event of any accident due to the highway mess.
Officials of Navayug, National Highway Authority and PWD attended the meeting.
