Mystery shrouds death of married woman; relatives barge into house

Kasargod, May 27, 2014: The death of a young woman who was married just two years ago is shrouded in mystery. The woman named Rafida (23), wife of Abdul Rahman and daughter of Anwar of Mogral Koppal was found hanging inside a room in her husband’s house located near Mogral Higher Secondary School on May 25, Sunday evening.

woman dead 1 According to sources, Abdul Rahman had asked Rafida to accompany him to the market on Sunday, but she refused and stayed back. Rahman found her hanging inside the room by a rope when he peeped through the window as she did not turn up for long.

As news of her suspected suicide reached her parental home, angry relative’s rushed to Abdul Rahman’s house and vandalised the house suspecting foul play behind her death.

It is learnt, Rafida’s brother Rahim was to get married on June 1 and tragedy has struck the family before that.

The body was later taken for a post mortem at Pariyaram Medical College.
