Udupi, Dec 30, 2015 : In a move resplendent of communal harmony as well as worth emulation, the District Samastha Muslim Paryaya Sauharda Samithi has decided to do something worthwhile during the forthcoming Paryaya Mahotsav of Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt.
This was informed by the Samithi President Haji K Aboobakker Parkala to reporters here on December 28, Monday. He said cold drink stalls will be opened on the procession route during Pura Pravesha ceremony of the Pejawar seer on January 4 while the Horekanike procession comprising offerings and contributions from Muslim brethren will be held on January 10.
A blood donation camp to be held on January 17 at the Sanskrit College will be inaugurated by the Pejawar seer himself. Blood donors will also get a free health insurance card for Rs 30,000 on behalf of G Shanker Family Trust. The cards will be valid for a period of six months, Aboobakker Parkala said adding Dr Ramachandra, Head of the Department of Surgery of KMC Hospital, Manipal will be felicitated on the occasion.
Samithi office bearers including Hamjat Hejamadi Kodi, Mohammad Arif, Ansar Ahmed, Mohammad Nabeel were present.
