Mangaluru, Dec 31, 2014 : Mangaluru Police Commissioner R Hithendra is all likely to be replaced by senior IPS officer S Murugan while ASP Annamalai may be promoted as Udupi District Superintendent of Police replacing current incumbent Rajendra Prasad. The official announcement in this regard is yet to be made.
An IPS officer of the 1997 batch, Murugan from Tamil Nadu is a recipient of President’s Medal for distinguished service and is presently the IG and Commander of Anti-Naxal Force in Bengaluru. He has the experience of serving as SP of Shivamogga and Mysore, Deputy IGP of Karnataka State Industrial Security Force and CID DIG.
Annamalai who is presently the ASP of Karkala was recently appointed in-charge of Kundapur division. Hailing from Coimbatore, he is a BE Mechanical Engineering Graduate and an MBA degree holder. He is an IPS officer of 2011 batch.
The present Udupi SP Rajendra Prasad had taken charge just five months ago.
