Kundapur, Sep 07, 2019: A man and a woman who tried to rob a woman after visiting her house on the pretext of giving a marriage invitation were caught hold of by the locals and handed over to the police. It is learnt, the accused duo is also facing charges in the Sameer murder case reported from Ganjimutt in Mangaluru and were out on bail just last month.
The accused are Asif (38) from Karkala and Firdous (35) from Kaup Majoor. Incidentally Sameer of Ganjimutt was the husband of Firdous. She had taken the former to Tamil Nadu where he was eliminated with the help of Asif.
The duo had visited the residence of Abu Mohammad Saheb on Ferry Road in Kundapur and told the woman present in the house that they were relatives of her daughter-in-law and had come to invite for wedding. Realising that there were none at the house and the men were away in the mosque for Namaz, they tried to snatch the gold chain of the woman but were caught hold of by locals when the woman raised a cry.
