S. P. Anand, the district convener of the Dalit Sangharsha Samithi, said that some people under the guise of policemen, arrested Sahan and Sunil, took them to a deserted place, and urged them to admit that they had murdered the mother-daughter duo.

Allegedly, the boys were tortured, and on July 8 Friday, they were dropped at Bikarnakatte, after which they were admitted to Wenlock Hospital.

Anand alleges that the police, who were frustrated at being unable to catch the real culprits, have begun torturing innocent people. Anand has contradicted the policemen’s claims that they were close to catching the murderer.

The Dalit Sangharsha Samithi has urged Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh to take immediate action against the policemen. However, it is not clear if the people who had taken away the two boys were really policemen or just people disguised as policemen.

Meanwhile, the police claim that the case is being investigated and that the family members are being interrogated. Panjimogeru is a place known for its illegal activities such as drug smuggling. The police say that they are investigating all possible angles of the case.
