Moodbidri : Skeletal remains of missing ice cream vendor found in forests

Moodbidri, Aug 24, 2013 :  A 45 year old man from Valpady village who was reported missing  three months ago has been found dead. His skeletal remains were found  in a forest area at Kellaputtige  of Daregudde GP limits  on August 21, Wednesday night. Locals meanwhile  have a strong suspicion that this might be a case of murder.

The man identified as Sudhaker Kunder, an ice cream vendor, had gone missing from Nellikar on  May 23  from the residence of the elders sister of his wife.  A case of missing was registered in Karkala police station on May 31.

The skeletal remains were identified as that of Sudhaker by his brother on  noticing the shirt and the label of Classic Tailors in it. Even his wife confirmed that the body was that of Sudhaker.

It is being said that villagers had seen the skeletal remains a fortnight ago but had not reported to the police out of fear. But a man who noticed the same on Wednesday informed the police. 

Bottles of poison, chappals, knife and some clothes were found near the body. Police are yet to ascertain if it was a murder or suicide.

Investigations are underway.
