Mangalore Today News Network

Moodbidri, April 17, 2018: Resentment is brewing within the BJP in Moodbidri over granting of ticket to Umanath Kotian to contest from the constituency. BJP District Vice President K P Jagadish Adhikari who was one of the aspirants is a disappointed lot and has said that he would very soon decide on quitting the party.

Speaking to reporters here, Adhikari said though he was given a ticket last time, he was just a puppet and that the BJP men instead of helping him had tried for his defeat. He said the party has hurt his self-respect  by choosing a candidate who has no prospects of winning.

A former Congressman, Adhikari said  he was dragged to the BJP from the Congress which had given him everything. He also regretted that though there were many in Moodbidri who have prospects of winning, the party has chosen an outsider as a candidate.

In the event of the defeat of the BJP none should blame me but should blame state as well as national leaders of the party, he said.

He admitted that other parties have extended an invitation to him and said he had good relationship with both the JD(S) and Congress leaders.

BJP office locked: As BJP had not won  Mulki-Moodbidri constituency so far, the party had not bothered to construct an office. However  Jagadish Adikhari had very recently converted his personal office as the party office where alls meets used  to be held.

However, he has locked up the office after he lost the battle for ticket.
