Caste CensusMoodabidri, 15 April 2015:  Moodabidri police has filed a case against Mohammed Haneef of Shanti Colony in Marpady village for obstructing the work of Social and Educational census Surveyor (also known as caste census) on Tuesday April 14, 2015, while the teacher of DKZP Primary school on survey duty.

The resident Haneef had objected use of pencil instead of pen for filling the columns of survey form and picked up a quarrel with the surveyor saying that Deputy Commissioner already warned the caste census surveyors to follow rules strictly, police said.

Soon after the state wide launch of Caste Census the Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim had warned the teachers who are engaged for the purpose should follow rules strictly and are not advised to use the pencil to fill data.

The surveyor complained to the police that the resident threatened showing hands towards her and snatched the pencil from her hand there by obstructed her to discharge duty.  The resident also denied to signed the form, she alleged in her complaint.
