Mangaluru, Dec 4, 2017: Mogaveerapatna near Ullal which was once prone to sea erosion, has this time tided over the Ockhi cyclonic effect without any danger, thanks to the two reefs built between Kotepura and Mogaveerapatna. The project was taken up under the ADB scheme.
The reefs have protected Mogaveerapatna from the surging waves which have caused damage in other places of Ullal. The country boats were however shifted to safer places with the help of the local Mogaveera Samaj to avert any damage.
Meanwhile, with the intensity of the tidal waves subsiding several people in the coastal areas of Ullal who had vacated the place, have returned home on Sunday.
