Modi to be sworn in as Prime Minister on May 30

New Delhi, May 26, 2019: Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister on May 30, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said on Sunday.

“The President will administer the oath of Office and secrecy to the Prime Minister and other members of Union Council of Ministers on 30.05.2019 at 07.00 pm,”a communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

The ceremony will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Modi was elected as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Saturday.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday invited him to form the next government. The President also asked Modi to intimate him about the names of others to be appointed members of the Union Council of Ministers and indicate the date and time of the swearing-in ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

“A letter stating that Narendra Modi has been elected leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party was handed over to the President. Letters of support from NDA constituent parties were also handed over to the President,” said the communique.
