Mangaluru, Oct 06, 2015 : Under the auspices of the State government, a mega job fair will be conducted at Canara Engineering College, Benjanapadavu November 19 and 20.
It was decided at a meeting presided over by B. Ramanath Rai, Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada Oct 5.
Minister Rai said companies from West Asia, mainly Dubai, would also be invited to the fair. A team would visit Dubai to hold talks with company representatives and invite them here. DK DC Adoor.B. Ibrahim said seventh standard pass candidates to engineering graduates would be able to get employment in the mela. Candidates having different skills should also be able to get a job, even if they are not graduates. He said there was no doubt that enough number of candidates from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi would benefit.
it was suggested, a meeting with CEOs, managing directors of the companies should be conducted in Bengaluru to request them to attend the fair for recruiting candidates, such a meeting would be arranged in Bengaluru on October 14.
The meeting decided to launch a website and enable candidates to register online. Companies would also be asked to register to confirm their participation. A participant said that both technical and non-technical candidates should be able to get employment in the mela.
A co-ordinator of the event said orientation programmes would be conducted in taluk headquarters in the two districts to inform candidates about companies that will attend the mela and the salaries offered by them for different posts
