Mangaluru, May 06, 2015: A vehicle of the Department of Information has set out on a Mission on Wheels on May 5, Tuesday. The mission aims at sensitizing the rural masses on sanitation and water conservation. The campaign is a joint initiative along with the Zilla Panchayat and Department of Public Relations.

As part of the initiative pamphlets will be distributed to people disseminating information on need for rain water harvesting, consumption of clean drinking water, construction of toilets and systematic disposal of wastes. Artistes from Hassan also will present “Togalu Gombeyata” as part of the awareness programme.
In his inaugural address, ZP Vice President Satish Kumpala said the water scarcity faced by several villages despite receiving good rainfall every year makes it inevitable to sensitize people on water conservation methods.
