Mangaluru, April 18, 2020: As the District Wenlock Hospital has been converted into a dedicated Coved-19 hospital, private hospitals should open help desks to assist patients from this hospital who require emergency treatment, said District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary.
The minister was speaking at an official meeting on Corona control held in the presence of elected representatives and officials on April 17, Thursday.
The minister’s instructions came in the backdrop of complaints that patients with other ailments who were earlier treated at Wenlock and now have to shift to other hospitals, are facing difficulties in private hospitals and that they were asked to pay for the services.
Already help desks are functioning at KMC and Wenlock. Similar help desks should open in all hospitals, the minister said.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh, Mayor Dinaker Pandeshwar, elected representatives, ZP CEO Selvamani, DCC Arunamshugiri, SP Lakshmi Prasad and others were present.
