Udupi, June 24, 2015: The foundation for the renovation of the Kaup Shree Hosa Marigudi Temple was laid on June 24, Wednesday by Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake who also happens to be the Honorary President of the Temple Development Committee. The renovation is being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 25 crores. Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji of Phalimar Mutt blessed the occasion.
In his speech, the seer hoped the renovation works would convert the shrine into a beautiful structure and also that the task would be completed on time.
Minister Sorake who also spoke said a grant of Rs 75 lakh has been provided for the purpose by the Endowment Department and promised to strive to get more grants for the renovation.
Sudhaker Hegde Mumbai, Sunder Shetty Mumbai and Kaup Beedu Anil Ballal, Honorary Presidents of the Temple Renovation Committee, Kuthyar Kenja Shridhar Tantri from State Dharmika Parishad, Lalaji R Mendon, Vasanth V Salian, former MLAs, Mohan Bangera, Chief of Sri Lakshmi Venkatesh Temple, Payyanur Shashidharan Acharya, Sculptor, Dakshya Sorake and many others were present.
