The Minister who spoke to reporters here after participating in a district level review meet at the DC office on September 30, Monday, said a meeting would be held at state level to deliberate on the reports submitted from various districts  following which the cabinet would   take a suitable decision.

Pointing out that the issue was sensitive, he said he has no intention of politicising it, but has  come to know that some celebrations were restricted merely to some communities.

The Minister  while pointing out that Yatri Nivas has been sanctioned in 30 places in the district, added that  some places do not seem to require Yatri Nivas. Moreover as they also involve maintenance cost, there is a need for social audit to  prevent fund misuse, he added.

He even pointed out that construction of some yatri nivas  have been suspended half way  through despite release of funds.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh, Additional DC Roopa, MLAs  D Vedavyas Kamath, Rajesh Naik and other officials were present.
