Mangaluru April 16, 2016: Social welfare Minister H Anjaneyya who visited the Kerekadu ST colony in Padupanambur has offered a special package of Rs 10 crores for the development of Koraga community in the district.
Addressing the Press at DC Office on April 16, Anjaneya said that Koraga Community suffered due to lack of basic facilities. During his visit to the colony the minister held a meeting to discuss the problems faced by the community. Compensation cheques and amenities were distributed to the beneficiaries of Koraga Communities from various departments.
On spot solutions have been given for most of their problems. A sum of Rs. 1 crore has been sanctioned for 400 beneficiaries from the district, said Anjaneya.
As per their demands foundation stone was laid for the Koraga Community hall worth Rs. 12 lac and also grant of Rs. 3 lac for the construction of their houses, he added.
Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim, Mangaluru North MLA Mohiudeen Bava and others were present.
