Moodbidri, Oct 25, 2015 : Moodbidri MLA and State Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Affairs K Abhayachandra Jain has lodged a complaint with the local police stating that he had received a threatening call.
As per the complaint, Abhayachandra had received an internet based call at around 12.45 pm on October 24, Saturday by a person introducing himself as underworld don Ravi Poojary.
The caller who had called from a number starting with 5065 had reportedly threatened to kill the minister after accusing him of being involved in the Prashanth Poojary murder case.
When Abhayachandra told the caller that he was not involved, the latter reportedly said "Even Ramanatha Rai was involved in the case."
The complaint stated that the caller had spoken in English and Hindi.
It is learnt the minister has also intimated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister KJ George regarding the threat call he had received. Mangaluru Police Commissioner Murugan visited the residence of the minister after he lodged a complaint. Additional security arrangements have been made at the Minister’s residence.
