The festival commenced with the distribution of honours, during which Fr. Walter D’Mello, the parish priest, presented a candle to each of the sponsors. This was followed by a Eucharistic celebration in which all the priests of the Varado participated under the leadership of the main celebrant Bishop of Gulbarga Fr. Dr. Robert Miranda.

Thomas Roshan D’Souza, the assistant parish priest; Fr. Stany Goveas of Our Lady of the Rosary Church; Marcel Monteiro, the chairperson of the centenary organizing committee; Alwyn Rosario, the vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council; and Gerald Pinto, the secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, were present.

A holy mass was celebrated on Oct 10, Sunday. On the evening of Oct 12, Tuesday, a vespers followed by a fireworks show was organized. A special choir comprising members of the parish sang melodious hymns on all 3 days.

The church premises were colorfully decorated and a fair was set up on the grounds with stalls selling sweets, fruit juices, cool drinks, ice creams, footwear, and clothes and offering games and entertainment. There were stalls selling cutlery and fireworks too.
