Mangaluru, Nov 07, 2020:    Bhaskar Kiran, social worker and ex-ward president of BJP Attavar Ward has submitted a memorandum to Sri Ponnuraj V., Chairman of Mangalore Smart City Ltd., urging him to immediately stop the work relating to broadening of the existing footpath along the three lane concrete road that starts from clock tower up to the RTO Office/ AB Shetty Circle.

The memorandum notes that the road already has footpath of sufficient width and further widening it will result in reducing the existing three lane concrete road which handles heavy traffic. The road will get congested resulting in traffic jams. “The decision to broaden the existing footpath at the cost of reducing the three lane concrete road on the entire stretch is illogical. The buses that stop at the designated bus stops will now hinder free traffic flow,” it says.
