Medical negligence blamed for the death of a woman after delivery at Ladygoschen

Moodbidri, Oct 08, 2015: It has been alleged that medical negligence of the doctors and staff at the Ladygoschen Hospital in Mangaluru had led to the death of a young woman a day after her delivery.
Speaking to reporters here, Zilla Panchayat Member Janardhana Gowda has demanded legal action against the erring doctors.
As per the information provided by the ZP member, Madhavi, the wife of Timmappa Gowda of Kijanabettu in Tenkamijar village was admitted to Ladygoschen Hospital on September 27 for her first delivery. The woman had delivered a baby boy the same day and the child was normal. Gowda alleged that the doctors had not allowed the family to meet the mother and the new born till evening that day. On September 28 a surgery was performed by doctors after informing that Madhavi was bleeding heavily. Later when Madhavi’s condition began to deteriorate, as per the doctor’s advice she was shifted to Wenlock. However, due to non-availability of specialist doctors the woman was again shitted to AJ Hospital where she died on October 5, he said.
Gowda alleged that the doctors at Ladygoschen had failed to keep the family of Madhavi informed about her health condition and also that only post graduate medical students and nurses were present at the time of her surgery.
Complaint to DC : Gowda said a complaint has already been lodged with the Deputy Commissioner regarding the incident and that the DC had ordered an investigation. He demanded stern punishment to the guilty and also compensation to the family of the deceased.
Taluk Panchayat Member Jayalakshmi Shettigar and the relatives of the deceased woman were present.

How can the Doctor allow the Students and nurses to diagnose the patient. The person is not fit to be a Doctor. We trust the doctors as they fight with the to save a life . If this is the case?
How can the doctor be so careless and negligent on the patient. The Government pays him remuneration. Throw such doctors away from the Hospital.
How sad? The strict action has toke taken on the Hospital and the doctor who treated the Lady. Just think the condition of the infant because at time the mother’s milk is very vital for the child.Because of the negligence of the doctor’s who has to Suffer?
