Medals haul by young ’Puttur Aquatic Club’ swimmers

Mangaluru, Aug 08, 2018: Diganth V S, a Class V student of Bethany Higher Primary School, Puttur, made a splash at SPEEDO Invitational Swimming Championship 2018 held in Bengaluru, bagging two gold and a silver medals.

Diganth, who is finetuning his skills with the coaches at Puttur Aquatic Club, won gold medals in 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke and a silver in 200m individual medley.

Three other swimmers of Puttur Aquatic Club made their mark in the state-level invitational event.

Siya Bhavin Savjani,  a Class III student of Bethany school, bagged a gold medal in 50m butterfly.

Anvith Rai Barike won a silver medal in 50m butterfly while Amanraj, a Class V student of Saandeepani Narimogaru, managed to win a bronze in 50m freestyle.

Puttur Aquatic Club garnered a total of 2,269 points in the meet. All four swimmers are trained by Partha Varanashi, Niroop G R, Rohith and Krishna at Balawana swimming pool in Puttur and St Aloysius pool in Mangaluru.
