Manjeshwar, Sep 07, 2015: A poor carpenter of Manjeshwar is now a crorepati. Shivaprasad who ekes out a living by making wooden carvings and resides in a rented house at Angadipadavu near Hosangady has won a Rs one crore cash prize in the Kerala State Lottery draw and is an extremely happy man today.
Shivaprasad who was addicted to purchasing lottery tickets since several years had just purchased a Kerala State Lottery on September 4, Friday. The draw was held on Saturday and Shivaprasad had turned rich overnight. He is a married man with three children.
Shivaprasad states that he would deposit the prize money in the Manjeshwar Seva Sahakari Bank and plans to spend much of it towards social service.
Shivaprasad says winning a lottery was like a dream and just unbelievable.
