Manipal, June 28, 2015:  In an interaction with media, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje said farmers in State are under constantly unceratin of their livelihood owing to irresponsible and improper Congress-led State government. 

 

MP ShobhaShe demanded that government should pay pending amount to farmers from sugar factories before the session begins in Belagavi on June 29. She ridiculed that the State government is adamant even after recent deaths of two sugarcane farmers. She said the government has failed to pay the support price to sugarcane growers. She defied the government saying that the government should sell the sugar and pay the pending the amount to the farmers.

She said BJP is on protest and Padyatra to make the State government realise the pathetic conditions of sugarcane growers. She said if the government is unable to wipe the tears of sugarcane growers, it should step down paving way for others to take over power.

She said whoever questions the Congress ministers are facing even death. As an instance, murder incident of Yellalinga in Koppal. She demanded action against Minister Shivraj Tangadagi. BJP is organising protest at Koppal. She said former CM Kumaraswamy and Yeddyurappa have met to plan the future course of action. .

On security in rural areas like Byndoor safety of the girls and students who travel long distance to schools and colleges should be rectified, she added that the govt should arrange for transport facilities for the students. She has raised the issue with the SP for taking stringent action against youth who are found indulging in illegal activities. Girls should go to schools and colleges in groups. Police dept should also look into drug trafficking activities and other crime taking place in the region, she added. She demanded that investigation must be opened into the suspicious death of Ratna Kotari last year as the matters are not made clear.
