Mangaluru, Aug 11, 2015 ;   Mercedes Benz, plans to cater to the growing demand for luxury cars in Mangaluru and surrounding areas, entered Mangaluru on August 10, opened  its dealership through Sundaram Motors.

On a 4,500 sqft space at Summit Apartments, Mary Hill, Airport Road, the dealership intends to cover western and northern Karnataka, as well as north Kerala, said Executive Director of Sundaram Motors Sharath Vijayaraghavan. Speaking to media after the launch here.  Sharath said Sundaram Motors has had a very long association with Mangaluru spanning over five decades.

He said the growth story of Mercedes Benz and Sundaram Motors in India has been strikingly similar. Sundaram has a strong presence in south India with state-of-the-art outlets in Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Madurai and now in Mangaluru. Speaking on the occasion, Mercedes India Managing Director and CEO Eberhard Kern said, the company has a strong customer-centric approach and the new facility at Mangaluru underlines the company’s commitment towards customers. The company is creating new benchmarks in modern luxury cars across markets. He said company’s dealer partners play a vital role to reach out to customers by investing in world-class facilities and services.

Speaking to presspersons after opening the dealership of Sundaram Motors, Mercedes Benz India Managing Director and CEO Eberhard Kern said that luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz in pursuit of 15 in ’15 strategy, wherein it plans to launch 15 new products and open 15 dealerships in 2015,     of the 15 new products, nine have already been launched in the Indian market.

Among the dealerships, the remaining 11 would be opened within five months. Mangaluru’s Sundaram Motors dealership is the 74th outlet of the company in the country.

  Kern said Mercedes Benz has registered 41 per cent growth in sales volumes during the first six months of 2015 by selling 6,659 units. The company aims to grab at least 35 per cent market share of the luxury car segment. About 70,000 luxury cars are sold in India a year.    Claiming that Mercedes Benz has been the market leader in the luxury car segment.
