Mangaluru, June 16, 2020:   Ullal Police have on June 15, Monday night arrested a young man on the charges of  raping and impregnating a minor girl. He has been booked under POCSO Act.

The accused is  Lavakumar alias Shravan. Lavakumar who was  working at a fast food canteen in Thokkottu had  enticed the  canteen owner’s 16 year old daughter  and had raped her. The girl’s mother has lodged a police complaint following which the accused was arrested.

The victim’s mother who was running the canteen had appointed Lavakumar, an acquaintance for the canteen related work.  It is said he used to stay with the canteen owner’s family and had  in course of time  lured the girl into his trap.
