Fresh graduates and those with experience came in good numbers today. As many as 15,000 persons from Dakshina Kannada and other parts of the State have registered their names. There are also aspirants from Kasaragod and other parts of the country. Nearly 250 companies, including eight foreign firms, are participating in this two-day event that ends tomorrow.

Commissioner for Environment and Training G. Manjunath said the mela was the 41st held so far. Those not getting jobs at the fairs can register their names in the National Careers portal www.ncs.gov.in that will enable the employers, who have registered, call candidates they require.

Minister for Environment and Forests B. Ramanath Rai said this job fair would become an annual affair. Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim also spoke.
