There are also reports of stoning some college buses. Tyres were also burnt to create barricades to obstruct movement of vehicles. However, Auto-rikshows and Taxies are plying as usual. While shops and establishments are open in the city, Banks and government offices remained closed.

People who arrived in the city by buses and trains were the worst hit and are stranded at the railway station and bus terminus.

Even schools and colleges have remained closed as the District Administration as well as the Education Department had declared a holiday in view of the bundh. The exams  scheduled to be held on Wednesday have been postponed.
