Mangaluru, Nov 26, 2016: District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai inaugurates the three-day wine festival at Kadri Park today November 26, Saturday. It is a first of its kind and fest will conclude on November 28.
Department of Horticulture and Karnataka Wine Board has jointly organised the ‘Mangaluru Wine Fest - 2016’ with the participation of over 12 wineries showcasing more than 150 brands.
In addition to demonstrations, exhibition and sale of wine at 10% discount, the festival throws light on medicinal values of wine taken along with daily food. The main attraction of the fest will be ’grape stampede’, where visitors, especially children join to crush grapes at 7pm on all the three days.
The main objective of organizing wine festivals is to create awareness about wine grape cultivation, providing exposure to Karnataka wineries at state and national level.
District in Charge Minister Ramanath Rai, Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza , Deputy Director of Horticulture Yogesh H R and others were present.
