Mangaluru, June 09, 2015:  In a major theft, jewellery worth nearly Rs 11 lakhs have been stolen from an Innova Car parked in the Panambur beach on June 7, Sunday. The thieves had broken the rear window glass of the car to lay their hands on the jewellery which belong to tourists who  had come to the beach as part of a state tour.

parked carThe theft came to light only when the  tourists returned to the car after enjoying their time at the beach. The valuables which have been stolen include necklace, chains, bangles and other valuables all weighing nearly 520 grams.

Though a complaint has been lodged with Panambur police so far they are clueless about the thieves.

Ironically, though there is a CCTV camera in the same area where the theft took place, a bill board that has been erected in the area has   come in the way of the camera.
