Mangaluru : Thieves burgle mobile shop at Kankanady ; decamp with over 60 cell phones

Mangaluru, Oct 23, 2015: Thieves who targeted the ’Ruby Mobiles Get Connected’ shop located near the Nilgiris Supermarket at Kankanady have decamped with cell phones worth several lakhs of rupees on October 22, Thursday night. It has been gathered that nearly 60 mobile phones have been stolen.
The theft came to light on October 23, Friday morning when the shop owner Zulfikar arrived as usual to open the shop. The thieves had gained entry into the shop by breaking teh locks of the shutter.
Though a newspaper shop is located nearby and usually remains open till 3 am, it had remained closed on Thursday as all newspapers had a holiday and there would be no Friday edition.
The shop owner has registered a complaint with Kadri police.
