Mangaluru : Rosario Parish Cricket promotes camaraderie

Mangaluru, Oct 12, 2015: Enthusiasm prevailed at the Rosario Cathedral grounds on Sunday Oct 11 with six teams vying for top spot in a one day Cricket bonanza.

 

 

There were six teams named :  Rosario Kings, Smile Cricketers, Crusade Brothers, Sunrisers Rosario, Pinto Panthers and Danica Cricketers. Each team had  nine players and the tournament was a great event fostering a friendly spirit among players and spectators.

MLA J R Lobo stated that cricket fever seems to be all over the country now. It is good that one takes active part in at least one sport. Games and activities can help good you healthy and spirit. . Youths today are busy with mobile phones, Facebook and TV and so on. Even interacting in small ways with others is difficult. In days past family and community activities were a plenty and time was made. Out looks  now are very different, priorities have  changed. Be to encouraged to take up sports too.

Rosario parish priest  J B Crasta said that the younger people of the parish work well and co-operate to make all events successful. It is good to see that they adapt to modern outlooks. May be next time girls too will be invited to join in Cricket. Gladson Montiero welcomed.

Corporator Abdul Latif, parish vice president Dolphy D’Souza, Rev Paul the APP who has become very popular with his activeness and magic shows was a driving force, many others were present to make this event a great one. All teams and players got trophies. It is not winning but participating that is the prize.
