Mangaluru : River Sailing Expedition flagged off

Mangaluru, Sep 1, 2015 : A River Sailing Expedition organised at the Lobo’s River View on September 1, Tuesday under the aegis of the 5 Karnataka Naval unit of NCC, Mangaluru was flagged off by N Sharath Bhandary, Chairman of Permanent Lok Adalat of DK, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga. The expedition is meant for Naval NCC cadets and will be participated by 50 NCC cadets including 20 girls from seven colleges.

Capt. MC Belliappa, Commanding Officer of Naval unit of NCC, Mangaluru informed that a sailing expedition is being held for the cadets after almost a decade. He said the eight day expedition would cover 200 kms. Every day two batches will leave for expedition, while a host of other activities are lined up for others. The NCC aims to select 17 boys and 13 girls from among theparticipants for the national level camp to be held in Udupi in September, he stated.
