Mangaluru : "Raknno" to release book - June 4

Mangaluru, June 04, 2015: Konkani Catholic weekly "Raknno"   published in Mangalore for the last 77 years and Kajulo Children’s Konkanni Monthly published since 1999 will release a book of Raknno Publications at Bishop’s House Hall, Kodialbail on June 4, Thursday (today) at 3.45 p.m.

 

The book titled ’Lampyanv (Lantern)’ is  a collection of socio-religious/ analytical articles based on church belief by senior writer Fr Victor A. Pinto, Kirem. On the occasion. ’Mirsang Millibai (Chilli Millibai)’ a collection of stories for children by senior writer Charlie Kulshekar would also be released. These are the 115th and 116th on the list of  ’Raknno Publications’.

Also on the occasion, the editorial responsibility of Raknno and Kajulo would be handed over in the hands of newly appointed editor and Konkanni linguist Fr Valerian Fernandes. Very Rev. Msgr Denis Prabhu the Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore would preside over this programme. Roy Castelino, President of Karnataka Konkanni Sahithya Academy and Venkatesh Baliga, Editor, ’Kodiyala Kabara Konkanni’ fortnightly will also be present.
