Mangaluru, Feb 28, 2016: Ace cricketer KL Rahul today inaugurated Zuese Fitness Club in the city along with Fitness Diva Sonali Swami and a host of other dignitaries. Rahul, who is a Mangalore origin national level cricketer, recalled his long association with Zuese Fitness Club and appreciated the new facilities available at the gym.
Occupying the entire third floor of Ibrose Commercial Complex on MG Road in the city, 9000 square feet of space and wide array of heavy duty workout equipment makes Zuese Fitness Club the biggest fitness centre of the city. It has dedicated studios for Groupex indoor cycling and Groupex classes like Zumba, Yoga, Aerobics and Zpining. It includes Zuese Fight club offering training in mixed martial arts (MMA).
Rajesh Pattali, Srinivas Shetty, Prasad Shetty and Vikas Puthran are the directors of the new venture and Nishit Boloor is the centre head.
Addressing the audience Rahul said: “Physical fitness is important these days, in order to balance our health against present day lifestyle. There is no age limit for it and people of any age from the young to the old can engage in fitness regimen. I congratulate Zuese Fitness Club on offering advanced facilities. Many of these facilities are avaiable for the first time in Mangalore.”
Giving the example of his own life, he said, being a sportsman, he often felt pressured by the challenges of winning a match. Yet it would only take a good workout to make all the stress disappear. “Fitness workout is a great stress buster. A good workout boosts my confidence and makes me eager to face any bowler,” he said, adding that a healthy body provides a sound base for achieving success in any field in life.
In her speech, Sonali Swami addressed fitness issues relating to women. “There is a misconception that marriage and child bearing are deterrents for women to pursue fitness programmes. But I want to clarify that women of all of ages are eligible for fitness workout. I am now 40 years old and I have children of my own. I do health work out without any impediment,” she said, “Fitness starts from the family and it takes only 45 minutes daily to keep healthy and to be fit as age is just the number.”
MLA JR Lobo advised Mangaloreans to utilize this gym as it offers lot of facilities.
District in charge minister B. Ramanath Rai and state health minister U.T. Khadar too made brief visit to Zuese Fitness Club. Subraya Pai, Srinivas Shetty and others were present.
Earlier members of Team Zero Gravity, a motor cycle stunt group presented hair raising motor bike stunts and wowed the audience. The programme included demonstration of mixed martial arts and Zumba along with entertainment performances. Several top achievers in sports were felicitated, including power lifting champion and ‘Strongest Man of India’ winner Prasad Shetty, who is a co-promoter of Zuese Fitness Club.
