Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2017: An incident  wherein  a woman was cheated after promising  free mobile phone and Sim card,  has been reported from Innoli Majikatta in Pavoor village. The fraudsters who had lured the woman had sent   gold plated images of different Gods through speed courier.

It has been   alleged that the woman named Jayanthi Leeladhar  received frequent calls from two  women from two telephone numbers  stating that there was an offer wherein she would get  touch screen mobile phone and free BSNL Sim. They managed to convince Jayanthi to deposit Rs 1,850 in the post office. A few days later she received a parcel in which there were gold plated images of Gods instead of a cell phone.  The accused when contacted had reportedly given her vague replies.
