He was speaking after inaugurating Nitte Accolades-2018 , South India Medical and Dental Inter College Sports Tournament at KSHEMA auditorium on March 6, Tuesday.

Continuing, he said sports play a very important role in promoting health. At the same time he regretted the fact that most children sideline sports once they complete their SSLC. Sometimes it is due to pressure from parents to concentrate more on studies that keeps them away from sports, he pointed out.

Nitte University Registrar Alka Kulkarni, Dr P S Prakash, Dean of KSHEMA Medical College, Dr J P Shetty, Dr Amrith Mirajkar, Vice Deans, Dr U S Krishna Nayak, Principal of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Dr Fathima D’Silva, Nursing College Principal, Dr Savitha Nayak, Vice Principal and others were present.
