Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2017: A man who allegedly attempted suicide by trying to jump into the river from the Netravathi bridge on October 26, Thursday night was rescued by a two-wheeler rider who was passing that way.
The person who attempted suicide is Dayanand (43) of Padil. It is said frustration in life had driven him to the extreme step.
It is said Basheer Jeppu who was on way towards Ullal in his two-wheeler spotted Dayanand sitting on the bridge and all set to jump into the river at around 10 pm. Basheer immediately rushed towards him convinced him to get down. Locals who gathered at the spot persuaded the man against taking the drastic step and sent him back.
