Mangaluru, Nov 4, 2015 : A protest was staged by the DK District Working Journalists’ Union in front of the DC office here on November 3, Tuesday to condemn the assault on a few photo journalists by supporters and relatives of Madoor Isubu who was killed in the clash in the District Prison.
The incident had occurred outside the Wenlock Hospital when some media lens men were taking photographs of the relatives of the deceased who had gathered there and were demanding that they be allowed to see the body of Isubu.
Addressing the protesting journalists, Jagannath Shetty Bala, President of the Union said the administration has failed to safeguard the interests of the Press and added that there was no question of tolerating such acts. He also demanded stern action against those responsible for the attack on journalists.
Harish Rai, Ravindra Shetty, former presidents of the Union and many other media men were present.
