Mangaluru : JD(S) Youth Wing stages protest against sand scarcity in district

Mangaluru Mar 28, 2016: Dakshina Kannada JD(S) Youth Wing staged a protest at Nehru Maidan on March 28, Monday against sand scarcity in the district.

Addressing the protestors, President of JD(S) Youth Wing Akshith Suvarna said that construction workers were hit hard as they have been rendered jobless due to sand scarcity in the district. He also blamed Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim and District Minister Ramanath Rai for the same.

District President of JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi alleged that Ramanatha Rai and Krishna Palemar were involved in the sand mafia.

The protest was followed by a procession from Nehru Maidan to DC office and later a memorandum was submitted to Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim.

Secretary JD(S) Vasanth Poojary, Srinath Rai, Wahid Khan, Ratnakar Suvarna and others were present.

The sand is the main component of constructing the builder. if there is scarcity what is the alternative.
