Mangaluru: Huge protest rally against CAA, NRC in Kannur on Jan 15

Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2020: Muslim organisations to hold a public meeting against the Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Register of Citizenship and the National Population Register on Januray 15, Wednesday in Kannur, Adyar said the reporters on Monday at a press meet in Mangaluru.

Muslim Central Commitee President Haji Mohammed Masood said that  the protest meeting will be held at Shah Garden, opposite the Kannur Kendra Jumma Masjid, Adyar on Januray 15 at 2.30 pm. Qazis of Mangaluru and Udupi will participate in the event. Around 1 lakh people are expected to attend the event.

Those who have studied the CAA and its link with NRC, would speak at the meeting. We are legally holding the event and have invited people from all communities, who are aware of CAA and NRC, to speak. Retired IAS Officer Harsha Mandar, Kannan Gopinath, Retired Chief Justice Gopal Gowda and others will speak at the meeting. Judge Sudhir Kumar Maroli will address the rally.

Qazis Al Haj Twaqha Ahmed Musliya, Al Haj Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar, Sayed Fazul KoyammTanjal, D.K waqf Commitee member Kanachur Monu, Mysuru Jnana Praksh Swamiji, Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Peter Paul Saldhana, President of Catholic Sabha Flava Roofi D’Casta, MLA U T Khader, Ex MLA Moideen Bawa, B M Farooq, B Y S Chief Secretary Dr Abdul Rasheed Zaini and many other dignitaries to be present.

Central Muslim Commitee Vice President Ibrahim Kodijal, B M Ali, Styed Ahmed Basha Tanjal, Chairman Haneef Haji, Mansoor Ahmed Azad  and others were present at the press meet, here.
