Mangaluru : Gang of 8 stabs youth in bus near Balmatta

 Mangaluru, Jan 31, 2015 : In a shocking case  reported on January 30 Friday morning, a young man was stabbed by a  gang of eight assailants inside a bus near Balmatta.

 

 

 

The victim identified as Muzammil (22) who has sustained stab injuries on his stomach and shoulder has been admitted to a private hospital in the city. He is learnt to be a civil engineer.

According to Muzammil, a  man deliberately tried to come in his way while he was standing in the bus and when Muzammil retorted, the man used some provocative words targeting Muzammil’s community. Soon seven others who were in the bus stabbed  Muzammil and fled from the place.

 Muzammil has named the assailants as Deepak, Chethan, Pradeep, Sachin, Sajith, Varun and Prashanth, all said to be his classmates in high school.

Police said some dispute between Muzammil and  the assailants who were friends and played volleyball together in the evenings had led to the attack.

Kadri police are investigating the case.
